Fox's Big Mistake: The Ayers Ad
Harold Simmons, a great and patriotic American has funded a TV ad that asks whether a man who launches his political career in the home of a known terrorist and then lies about his relations with the terrorist should be president. Reasonable question. The Obama campaign doesn't think so and attempted to get the Justice Department to suppress the ad, telling us another important thing we need to know about the Obama camp, which is that the First Amendment doesn't mean anything to them (and look out talk radio if the D's wind up controlling 3 branches of government.
But according to Shepherd Smith Fox has decided not to run the Ayers ad because its funder Harold Simmons was also one of the chief funders of the Swift Boat campaign that saved the country from the liar and turncoat John Kerry. Fox's decision is a capitulation to the liberals' version of both the Vietnam War and the Swift Boat vets. John Kerry is a Judas who defamed his own country and its brave men in arms and did so in fraudulent "Winter Soldier" campaign organized by the America-hating, Jane Fonda left. The Swift Boaters are heroes and patriots. We are proud to have one of their leaders, John O'Neill, on our board, and proud to know Harold Simmons as a friend. I hope Roger Ailes has second thoughts, and I hope the Fox audience lets him know how they feel.

Weisberg Has It Upside Down. Without Racism, Obama Would Be A Zero
Slate's Jacob Weisberg is sure that if Obama loses, the only reason will be racism. Actually the opposite is more likely the case. If it weren't for liberal white guilt (racism) Obama would not even be a candidate and he most certanly would not be elected. Consider a white candidate whose spiritual mentor was David Duke, whose political career was launched by black helicopter militia men, who could not give a straight answer about his upbringing, his religion, or his political attachments and who threw his own grandmother under the bus to extricate himself from an awkward question. Would this man be running for president on a major party ticket? Would he be the object of an almost religious fervor able to fill football stadiums with his political idolators?

Dyslexic Left Attacks "Stop the Jihad" Campaign. Obama's self-hating black remark
The Freedom Center's "Stop the Jihad" Campaign was launched on Friday, August 15, and on Friday August 15 it was attacked by the left on DailyKos. This follows a pattern the Kos left has followed since 9/11 of defending the jihadists, and attacking the defenders of freedom in this country and abroad. It is a pattern familiar from the Cold War, when progressives in America provided a support group for America's totalitarian enemies from its beginning until its end.
The leader of this attack was an academic with a long history of intellectual dyslexia named John K. Wilson. Or perhaps John has dyslexia pure and simple since he is apparently unable to read an English sentence and parse its meaning.
The title of his attack is "David Horowitz's Jihad Against Free Speech on Campus." Let's call this Lie #1. I have not and will not campaign against anyone's free speech on campus or anywhere else. Wilson goes on."Right-winger David Horowitz is calling for the defunding of MSA chapters who promote ethnic hatred and refuse to condemn holy war" unless they agree with his view that Hamas and Hizbollah are evil." Horowitz also wants funding removed from MSA for sponsoring speakers he disagrees with."
To put these gross distortions of what I have said and what our campaign is about in perspective, it would be like my writing that John Wilson supports university and student funding of the Ku Klux Klan and Neo-Nazis. In fact that is precisely what his position amounts to. I did not say that the Jew-hating, gay-bashing, misogynistic speakers sponsored by the MSA should not be allowed to speak. Nor does the Stop the Jihad Campaign say that. We have said the University should not support spreaders of ethnic and gender hatred, and should not provide them offices in their Student Unions. Should the Ku Klux Klan have a Student Union Office and get thousands of dollars in student funds to spread their poisons? That's the logic of Wilson's position that free speech requires institutional funding.
The fact is that Wilson and the Daily Kos zealots are hypocrites in attacking us because we don't think the university should be sponsoring hate. Or did I miss their protests in support of the individuals who posted the noose flyer at Columbia or the poster forged by George Washington University leftists with the title "Who Hates Muslims We Do?" In attacking us for speaking out against hatred that comes with a Muslim label, in defending overtly genocidal terror groups like Hizbollah and Hamas, Wilson and Kos demonstrate their concern is not a principle such as free speech, but a cause which is anti-American, anti-gay, anti-woman, anti-Christian and anti-Jew.
Obama' Self-Hating Black Remark
How come there have been no comments on Barack Obama's attack on Justice Thomas's intelligence? The only black on the Supreme Court and liberals feel compelled to attack him as mentally challenged. I thought this disgusting at the time of Thomas's nomination and the fact that he has a large body of judicial opinions now on the record makes it even more vile. Ruth Bader Ginsburg is a rank idelogue. But since she is an ideologue of the left, and since conservatives are civilized, she was walked through the nomination process by Republican Orrin Hatch and there were only 6 votes against her. But Clarence Thomas was conservative and black and so liberals -- black as well as white liberals -- decided they had to destroy him. And still feel they have to destroy him. That's a big enough difference between so-called liberals and conservatives for me to be happy to be counted among the latter.

Commander-in-chief, Not
The Russian invasion of Georgia underscores that we are living in dangerous times, perhaps the most dangerous in our history. The Russian target is Caspian oil and control of Western Europe's energy resources. This is the first Russian invasion of a sovereign country since the Cold War. The previous one was the invasion of Afghanistan and we all know the consequences of that.
What was the response of the two candidates to be the next commander-in-chief? McCain condemned the invasion and called on the Russians to withdraw. Obama called on "both sides" to stop fighting and said the matter should be turned over to the UN -- that is to the pro-Islamist Arab dictatorships and their allies. This is a real world test of what Obama would be like as a commander-in-chief. A disaster.

Jon Voight and the Paranoid Liberals; Al Gore's Silence over China's Pollution
I was watching Jeffrey Wells on the O'Reilly Factor the other night. Wells is the Hollywood journalist who wished in a blog that Jon Voight would never work in the town again because he disagreed with the Hollywood left on such sacred subjects as Mr. Obama and the war in Iraq. Years ago, Jeffrey Wells used to come with some frequency to our Wednesday Morning Club meetings and write fairly about the goings on. So I took his explanation for his Torquemada-like outburst as a sign of how far normally reasonable people who call themselves liberals have travelled since the beginning of the Bush age, descending into the depths of political dementia.
O'Reilly was interested in the behavior of someone regarding himself as a liberal reminiscent of the McCarthyism he pretended to despise. When O'Reilly asked Wells what in particular had caused him to regard a man who disagreed with him on some political issues as the devil incarnate, Wells responded thus: two stolen elections and the war in Iraq. Well, McCarthy was upset by what he regarded as the treason of liberals in behalf of a monstrous foreign enemy. It didn't occur to Wells that conservatives might have the same attitude towards liberals like him. Nor that they generally had the self-discipline and good manners to keep their feelings under wrap in the interests of a democratic discourse.
Liberals inhabit an echo chamber in which they listen only to themselves. They have no inkling that reasonable people might think of them as lying about the Iraq War, aiding and abetting a monstrous enemy, sabotaging America's defenses against another 9/11, stabbing their country and its brave young men and women in arms in the back, and so forth. Ben Johnson and I have documented these behaviors in a book (Party of Defeat: How Democrats and Radicals Undermined the War on Terror Before and After 9/11) endorsed by eighteen members of Congress, including the ranking members of the intelligence, homeland security and foreign affairs committees. Yet not a single liberal journal or columnist has commented on or reviewed the book, let alone attempted to answer its arguments. Since liberal journals have shown themselves unable to handle the truth, Frontpage is offering to post a review of the book by any credible liberal journalist who has a record of commenting on foregn policy. We are offering a $1,000 fee to said journalist for putting in the effort. So far, no takers.
BTW: Why is Al Gore (one of the chief saboteurs of the war in Iraq) and Nobel prophet of environmental salvation not screaming bloody murder about the Chinese polluters? Can it be that attacking his own country is such a high priority for Mr. Gore that he is giving China a pass?
